VEM brings innovative STEAM technologies to your neighborhood that ignite kids’ creativity to explore and discover their love of learning.

Timothy Wilcox is a curriculum developer and program coordinator at Vision Education & Media. He has a Ph.D. in English literature from Stony Brook University, specializing in early electronic literature – a genre encompassing works for which digital and network technologies play an essential role. Dr. Wilcox has nine years of experience in higher education, working in the city and state university systems of New York in Hunter College, Stony Brook University, and the Fashion Institute of Technology. He has taught courses on topics such as hyperconnectivity in literature, Web 1.0 era literature, and an introduction to the Digital Humanities for literary studies. Inspired by his research on forms such as interactive and hypertext fiction, Dr. Wilcox now develops hands-on childhood STEM education which enables the next generation to work creatively in mediums such as coding, robotics, and animation.

Katie Marsh is a mentor and curriculum developer at Vision Education & Media. She has a Masters in the Fine Arts from the University of Houston. She has eleven years of experience in higher education, working in education systems in Utah, Texas, New Hampshire, and New York. She has taught topics such as Acting, Stage Combat, Conservation, Stop Motion Animation, Pre-Robotics, Minecraft, and Video Game Development. Ms. Marsh now teaches and develops curriculum for the creative and hands-on use of robotics, coding, animation, reading, and the performing arts.

P.S. 59 is a Public School in District 14 in Brooklyn. P.S. 59 serve students from Pre- Kindergarten to 5th Grade. School schedule is 8:00am-2:20pm everyday with after school programs until 5:30pm. At P.S 59 we serve 340 students with a 20:1 ratio of students to teachers. P.S. 59 is committed to creating a legacy of academic excellence, for each and every student. They seek to develop individuals who can not merely be defined by standards, but can set them as well.

PS 84 José de Diego is a 3-K to 8 school serving the community of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. School mission at PS 84 is for students to become lifelong learners. Students who arrive at PS 84 in 3K and graduate in 8th grade have the opportunity to grow in a warm, inclusive, and nurturing school community. Our child-centered, diverse environment fosters self-confidence and mutual respect. We are proud to offer Spanish Dual Language, ICT, Micro ICT and G&T programs that cater to all segments of our student population.
